COMPANY HISTORY

As an entity Newage Testing Instruments has been making and selling hardness testers for almost 50 years - having originally been founded in 1954 as NewAge Industries, Inc. Over those 50 years, the company has grown into a worldwide supplier of hardness testing equipment.

Newage Testing Instruments, Inc. was begun in 2000, out of the Testing Instruments Division of NewAge Industries. Newage manufactures and/or distributes hardness testers as well as providing service and calibration nationally and internationally. Most of the hardness testers Newage sells can be seen in this website.

Back in 1954 the company's first products were metal hardness testers. Among these first testers were the portable "Press-and-Read" SR and MR Series that sold for a few hundred dollars (at right). Thousands of these testers were sold worldwide. Today the fifth generation of this tester is being sold - in addition to 16 other complete lines of hardness testers.
