Hardness Test Blocks

Newage provides hardness test blocks in all scales for all applications. Find your desired block model and add the hardness value. All Rockwell C and B blocks are normally in stock, as well as most Brinell blocks listed

Specifications for Rockwell test blocks recently changed
with the introduction of ASTM E18-07.
With the introduction of ASTM E-18-07 ("07" indicates the date of release in 2007) the use of steel ball indenters has been eliminated (with a minor exception of testing thin sheet tin mill products.)

Everyone doing tests using ball indenters in the Rockwell scale for certified testing must use tungsten carbide ball indenters - not steel.  Also, all Rockwell test blocks marked as being calibrated using steel ball indenters (or ones nor marked for either carbide or steel) must also be replaced. Most users are already using carbide ball indenters and test blocks.

(NOTE: All companies Rockwell scale testing should own a copy
of the ASTM E
18-07 standard which can be purchased here.)

Newage also provides other types of hardness testing accessories like indenters and anvils, etc for models from most manufacturers. US e the link here to download a catalog of standard accessories

* Nominal values (also called face values) are used for convenience because the manufacturer cannot exactly predict or control the actual values. For the purposes of hardness testing, the user does not need to calibrate using a specific value. Usually when testing in a certain scale, using a value that is at the low, medium and high range of a particular scale is advised.

**Includes shank and full set of spares
